It Takes A Team: Why I Can’t Do It All On My Own

By Glenda Benevides
Everyone is at different places in life, and sometimes we convince ourselves we need to do everything alone. We tell ourselves: I can handle this. I can’t depend on anyone else to get it right. I can’t afford help.
The usual suspects show up, time, money, fear, overwhelm, and the mindset that somehow we should carry it all ourselves.
Today, I was reminded that I cannot do everything alone and I’m not meant to. There is so much power in sharing ideas with others, receiving insight, collaborating, and allowing people to bring their expertise into areas where we may not be knowledgeable… or simply don’t want to carry the entire weight alone.
The Moment I Stopped Doing Everything Alone, So Much Changed
I realized that so much of what I’ve accomplished happened because I asked for support. Because I let people in. Because I saw the true value of collaboration, connection, and team.

Every person has something meaningful to contribute, and it’s incredible to watch an idea come alive through shared energy and vision. The joy it creates doesn’t just impact me it touches everyone who gets to experience the work and be inspired by it. Otherwise, so many ideas would remain sitting on a desk… trapped in our minds… waiting for “someday.” The magic happens when we step out, ask, share the vision, and discover what can be created together. That’s where the real power and magic lives. So when that voice says, “I’ll just do it myself,” or “Maybe tomorrow when I have more time, more money” pause for a moment and ask yourself instead:
How can I make this happen with support?
Write down the names of people you trust and ones who are experts in what you need. Be open. Share your dream, your vision, your idea. Listen to their thoughts, ideas and comments. And when it feels aligned, invite them to be part of what you are creating.
Remember, support is an energy exchange and that doesn’t always mean money. Sometimes people simply want to contribute, create, connect, and feel part of something meaningful. Allow others to participate and shine too is where the magic builds from.
With all that said, I’m deeply grateful to the people in my life who showed up for me and are still showing up for me, especially in areas where I lack expertise. They share their gifts, their energy, and their belief in me… and I gave mine in return in ways that fulfilled their hearts, too.
That’s the beauty of collaboration: everyone shines brighter and together.
So thank you to all the beautiful souls who stepped in, stepped up, and helped bring visions to life. I hope, in some way, I’ve also impacted your life with love.
